Rebecca has a PhD in human factors and ergonomics. She has over 20 years of experience in research, policy making and strategy development both in consultancy and within government organisations. Her work has had a particular focus in road safety covering most aspects of the safe system, particularly road engineering and driver competence and training. She has also worked on human factors projects in rail and military environments studying issues such as organisational safety culture and shared situation awareness.
