Hamish is co-director of Mackie Research and has 24 years of research and consultancy experience in various areas of human factors and ergonomics, with the last 18 years spent mostly in the transport sector. As a certified Human Factors professional, all of Hamish's work has the underlying theme of more human focussed systems and he has a particular focus on road safety and sustainable transport. Working with a range of collaborators, Hamish has worked on a number of important road safety projects (including the Rural Intersection Active Warning System, work related road safety and Safe System in practice workshops). Hamish was the project lead for Te Ara Mua – Future Streets, a neighbourhood street retrofit to test sustainable suburban transport infrastructure, and Healthy Future Mobility Solutions, which focussed on healthy options for moving around our towns and cities in the future.
